Primary Science Tuition in East Singapore (P3 to P6)

Science starts at Primary 3, and by Primary 6 the PSLE paper is mostly about applying ideas to situations a child has not seen before. Knowing the topic is half of it; the other half is writing an answer that names the concept, links it to what happened, and states the result.

We tutor primary science across the East, at home or online: Marine Parade and Katong, Bedok, Tampines and Pasir Ris.

What is taught at each level

MOE's 2023 Primary Science syllabus organises the subject into five themes: Diversity, Cycles, Systems, Energy and Interactions (MOE, Primary Science Syllabus 2023). The topics by level:

Primary 4	Plant parts and functions; the digestive system; matter; light; heat
Primary 5	Reproduction in plants and animals; water; plant and human respiratory and circulatory systems; electrical systems
Primary 6	Photosynthesis; energy conversion; frictional, gravitational and elastic spring forces; interactions within the environment

Some topics are not required for Foundation Science (MOE marks them in the syllabus).

How PSLE Science is set in 2026

One paper of 1 hour 45 minutes and 100 marks (SEAB, PSLE Science 0009):

Booklet B is where answers have to be written, and where a correct idea explained loosely loses marks.

What it costs

Published hourly rates for primary home tuition in 2026 run from about S$25 to S$40 with a part-time tutor, S$35 to S$60 with a full-time tutor and S$55 to S$90 with a current or former school teacher (FamilyTutor, SmileTutor, TutorCity). We confirm the rate for your child's level before the first lesson.
